राजधानी दिल्ली में जलभराव और बाढ़ की समस्या से निपटने के लिए तैयार ड्रेनेज मास्टर प्लान को लागू करने के लिए दिल्ली सरकार ने अब अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर फंडिंग की राह देख रही है। परियोजना की भारी लागत को देखते हुए लोक निर्माण विभाग (पीडब्ल्यूडी) ने विश्व बैंक से वित्तीय सहायता के लिए संपर्क किया है।
सोमवार को अधिकारियों ने बताया कि हाल ही में दिल्ली में विश्व बैंक के प्रतिनिधियों के साथ एक उच्चस्तरीय बैठक हुई, जिसमें दिल्ली सरकार ने ड्रेनेज मास्टर प्लान की रूपरेखा और जरूरतों को विस्तार से रखा। बैठक के दौरान लोक निर्माण विभाग (पीडब्ल्यूडी) दिल्ली नगर निगम (एमसीडी), सिचाईं एवं बाढ़ नियंत्रण विभाग और समेत अन्य संबंधित एजेंसियों की भूमिका और जिम्मेदारियों की जानकारी भी दी गई।
वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने बताया विश्व बैंक को बताया गया कि ड्रेनेज मास्टर प्लान को लागू करने की अनुमानित लागत करीब 57,000 करोड़ है। इसके साथ ही मास्टर प्लान से जुड़ी विस्तृत परियोजना रिपोर्ट (डीपीआर) भी विश्व बैंक के प्रतिनिधियों को सौंपी गई। यह मास्टर प्लान दिल्ली के तीन प्रमुख ड्रेनेज बेसिन नजफगढ़, बारापुल्ला और ट्रांस यमुना को कवर करता है।

दिल्ली सरकार ने सितंबर 2025 में इस बहुप्रतीक्षित ड्रेनेज मास्टर प्लान को प्रस्तुत किया था। इसे शहर की आने वाले 30 वर्षों की ड्रेनेज जरूरतों को ध्यान में रखकर तैयार किया गया है। योजना के तहत पूरे शहर में पांच वर्षों में दो चरणों में काम करने का प्रस्ताव है। लक्ष्य है कि अगले तीन वर्षों में जलभराव की घटनाओं में 50 प्रतिशत तक कमी लाई जाए और पांच वर्षों में बाढ़ से होने वाली दुर्घटनाओं को 30 प्रतिशत तक घटाया जाए।
