एसएस परमार की अध्यक्षता में एडीजीपी स्तर की सुरक्षा टीम ने कन्वेंशन हाल में सुरक्षा मानकों और रूट प्लान का विस्तार से रिव्यू किया। वीसी प्रो. डा. करमजीत सिंह, डीसी दलविंदरजीत सिंह, पुलिस कमिश्नर गुरप्रीत सिंह भुल्लर, एआईजी परमिंदर सिंह भंडाल सहित अन्य वरिष्ठ अधिकारी उपस्थित रहे।
सभी विद्यार्थियों को पहचान दस्तावेज और पास जारी किए गए। मेडल और डिग्री पाने वाले छात्र-छात्राओं के लिए एडमिशन डाॅक्यूमेंट और टैग नंबर भी तय किए गए। परिसर और आसपास के इलाके को बैरिकेडिंग के साथ सील किया गया और तलाशी के बाद ही लोगों को एरिया में प्रवेश दिया जा रहा है। इस कान्वोकेशन में कुल 463 विद्यार्थियों को डिग्री और मेडल दिए जाएंगे, जिनमें 74 अंडरग्रेजुएट, 102 पोस्टग्रेजुएट, 270 पीएचडी डिग्री और 7 मेमोरियल मेडल शामिल हैं। इसके अलावा, यूनिवर्सिटी दो मशहूर हस्तियों को ऑनरेरी डॉक्टरेट प्रदान करेगी।
राज्यपाल भी पहुंचेंगे
मुख्यमंत्री भगवंत सिंह मान और गवर्नर गुलाबचंद कटारिया भी समारोह में मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में शामिल होंगे। वहीं, मुख्यमंत्री गुरुवार को हरमिंदर साहिब व अकाल तख्त में विशेष स्पष्टीकरण देंगे, जिसके चलते वहां भी सख्त सुरक्षा प्रबंध किए गए हैं। संपूर्ण व्यवस्था में पुलिस और प्रशासन सतर्क हैं, जिससे आम जनता और प्रतिभागियों को किसी प्रकार की असुविधा न हो।
