(शाश्वत तिवारी) : 2022 में भारत सरकार ने महासभा के 75वें सत्र में वर्ष 2023 को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय बाजरा वर्ष (IYM) के रूप में मान्यता देने के लिए एक प्रस्ताव प्रायोजित किया था। प्रस्ताव को सर्वसम्मति से खाद्य और कृषि संगठन (एफएओ) साथ ही महासभा के सदस्यों द्वारा समर्थित किया गया था।

भूटान में भारतीय राजदूत सुधाकर दलेला ने बाजरा के वैश्विक उत्पादन और खपत में भारत की भूमिका पर प्रकाश डाला। मिशन LiFE (पर्यावरण के लिए जीवन शैली) के विषय के साथ सिंक में आहार के लिए मुख्य आहार के रूप में बाजरा पेश करना, पर्यावरण की रक्षा के लिए जीवन शैली में बदलाव करना सम्बंधित विषय पर प्रकाश डाला।

इस तरह का उत्सव भारत के अपने पड़ोसियों के साथ उस तरह की साझेदारी को दर्शाता है, जो ‘मिरेकल मिलेट्स की भूली हुई विरासत को पुनर्जीवित करने में भारत का समर्थन कर रहे हैं।
