दक्षिण-पश्चिम फ्रांस में एक क्रूज शिप पर संभावित पेट संक्रमण के मामले सामने आने के बाद करीब 1700 यात्रियों को जहाज पर ही रोक दिया गया है। अधिकारियों के मुताबिक कई यात्रियों में गैस्ट्रोएन्टराइटिस जैसे लक्षण पाए गए हैं।
‘एम्बिशन’ नाम का यह क्रूज शिप 8 और 9 मई को ब्रिटेन के बेलफास्ट और लिवरपूल से यात्रियों को लेकर फ्रांस और स्पेन की यात्रा पर निकला था।
फ्रांस के गिरोंद क्षेत्र की स्वास्थ्य एजेंसी के अनुसार, जहाज पर लगभग 50 यात्रियों में तेज पेट खराब होने और उल्टी-दस्त जैसे लक्षण देखे गए।
यात्रियों को कमरों में किया गया आइसोलेट
स्वास्थ्य अधिकारियों ने बताया कि लक्षण सामने आते ही प्रभावित यात्रियों की डॉक्टरों द्वारा जांच की गई और उन्हें उनके कमरों में आइसोलेशन में रखा गया।
एहतियात के तौर पर बोर्डो में यात्रियों के उतरने की योजना फिलहाल रोक दी गई है। संक्रमित यात्रियों के सैंपल लेकर बोर्डो यूनिवर्सिटी हॉस्पिटल के संक्रामक रोग विभाग में जांच के लिए भेजे गए हैं।
92 वर्षीय यात्री की मौत
इस बीच, 10 मई को जहाज पर 92 वर्षीय एक यात्री की मौत भी हुई। हालांकि क्रूज ऑपरेटर ‘एंबेसडर क्रूज लाइन’ ने स्पष्ट किया कि मृत यात्री में गैस्ट्रोइंटेस्टाइनल बीमारी के कोई लक्षण नहीं पाए गए थे।
