अमेरिकी सेना ने कहा कि उसने मंगलवार को एमक्यू-9 रीपर को समुद्र में गिरा दिया जब रूसी लड़ाकू विमान ने मानव रहित विमान पर ईंधन डाला जो इसके ऑप्टिकल (नजर रखने संबंधी) उपकरणों को देखने से रोकने और इसे क्षेत्र से बाहर निकालने तथा इसके प्रोपेलर को बाधित करने का स्पष्ट प्रयास था। वीडियो का जारी अंश कथित तौर पर ईंधन डाले जाने को लेकर टकराव के पहले या बाद की घटनाओं को नहीं दिखाता है।
