बर्फीले तूफान ने अमेरिका के पूर्वी हिस्से को अपनी चपेट में ले लिया है। ज्यादातर हिस्सों में भारी बर्फबारी और तेज बारिश देखने को मिल रही है। तापमान लुढ़कने के कारण ठंड अचानक से बढ़ गई है।
NWS ने जारी किया अलर्ट
नेशनल वेदर सर्विस (NWS) ने रविवार को चेतावनी जारी की थी। इसके अनुसार, लोगों को अभी इस बर्फीले तूफान से राहत मिलने के आसार नहीं हैं। घरों से बाहर निकलना जानलेवा हो सकता है। इसलिए लोगों से घरों में रहने की गुजारिश की गई थी।
पावर आउटेज के अनुसार, 850000 लोग बिना बिजली के अंधेरे में रह रह हैं। टेनेसी, मिसिसिपी, टेक्सास और लुइसियाना जैसे शहरों में इसका तगड़ा असर देखने को मिल रहा है। केंटकी, जॉर्जिया, वर्जीनिया और अलबामा जैसे राज्य भी बिजली गुल होने का सामना कर रहे हैं।
तूफान से लाखों लोग प्रभावित
NWS ने ओहियो वैली में भारी से बहुत भारी बर्फबारी होने की संभावना जताई है। मौसम वैज्ञानिक एलिसन सैंटोरेली के अनुसार,

ट्रम्प ने शनिवार को ट्रुथ पर पोस्ट शेयर करते हुए लिखा, “हम इस तूफान के रास्ते में आने वाले सभी राज्यों पर नजर रखेंगे और उनसे संपर्क में रहेंगे। सभी लोगों से अपील है कि वो सुरक्षित रहें और ठंड से सावधान रहें।”
