कांग्रेस ने मंगलवार को मोदी सरकार पर निशाना साधते हुए कहा कि भारत के रूस से तेल आयात का मामला अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप द्वारा पिछले पांच दिनों में तीन बार उठाया गया है। कांग्रेस ने कहा कि उन्होंने (ट्रंप) विदेश मंत्रालय द्वारा प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के साथ किसी भी बातचीत से इनकार करने की कोशिशों को नकार कर दिया है।
केंद्र सरकार पर निशाना साधते हुए कांग्रेस महासचिव जयराम रमेश ने कहा कि पिछले पांच दिनों में राष्ट्रपति ट्रंप अब तक तीन बार भारत द्वारा रूस से तेल आयात के मुद्दे को उठा चुके हैं। और इसमें कोई शक नहीं कि इस सप्ताह बुडापेस्ट में राष्ट्रपति पुतिन से मुलाकात से पहले वे इस बात को और भी अधिक बार दोहराएंगे।
राष्ट्रपति ट्रंप का कहना है कि उन्होंने अपने अच्छे दोस्त प्रधानमंत्री मोदी से बात की है और भारत ने रूस से तेल आयात को बंद करने का आश्वासन दिया है। हालांकि, भारत के विदेश मंत्रालय ने ऐसी किसी बातचीत की जानकारी होने से इनकार किया है, लेकिन राष्ट्रपति ट्रंप ने मंत्रालय के इस खंडन को नकार दिया है।
ट्रंप ने कल फिर दी थी धमकी
सोमवार को एयर फोर्स वन में पत्रकारों से बात करते हुए ट्रंप ने कहा था कि अगर भारत रूस से तेल खरीदना बंद नहीं करेगा, तो उसे भारी शुल्क चुकाते रहना होगा। रूस से तेल खरीदने को लेकर भारत की हालिया टिप्पणियों के बारे में पूछे गए एक सवाल पर ट्रंप ने कहा, भारत ऐसा नहीं करना चाहता। भारत ने पिछले हफ्ते कहा था कि वह बाजार की परिस्थितियों के अनुरूप ऊर्जा खरीद के अपने स्रोतों को व्यापक और विविध बना रहा है। इससे कुछ घंटे पहले ट्रंप ने दावा किया था कि मोदी ने उन्हें आश्वासन दिया है कि भारत रूस से कच्चे तेल की खरीद बंद कर देगा। ट्रंप ने कहा कि उन्हें नहीं लगता कि भारत ने ऐसी कोई टिप्पणी की। उन्होंने कहा, मुझे नहीं लगता कि उन्होंने ऐसा कहा है। नहीं, मैंने भारत के प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी से बात की है और उन्होंने कहा है कि वह रूसी तेल नहीं खरीदेंगे।
वित्तीय सहायता देने का लगाया आरोप
अमेरिका का आरोप है कि रूसी कच्चे तेल की खरीद के जरिये भारत पुतिन को यूक्रेन के खिलाफ युद्ध जारी रखने में वित्तीय सहायता दे रहा है। रूसी तेल की खरीद को लेकर भारतीय वस्तुओं के आयात पर 25 प्रतिशत अतिरिक्त टैरिफ लगाने के ट्रंप प्रशासन के फैसले के बाद से भारत और अमेरिका के संबंध तनावपूर्ण दौर से गुजर रहे हैं। अमेरिका ने भारत से आयात पर कुल 50 प्रतिशत टैरिफ लगाए हैं।
