‘जब तक कोई दोषी साबित नहीं हो जाता, तब तक कोई अपराधी नहीं होता’, महाराष्ट्र के उपमुख्यमंत्री अजित पवार ने नगर निगम चुनावों में आपराधिक छवि वाले उम्मीदवारों को टिकट देने का बचाव करते हुए सही ठहराया।
निकाय चुनाव की सरगर्मियों के बीच महाराष्ट्र के उप मुख्यमंत्री अजित पवार ने दागी उम्मीदवारों को बचाव किया है। एनसीपी प्रमुख अजित पवार ने शुक्रवार को नगर निगम चुनावों में आपराधिक पृष्ठभूमि वाले उम्मीदवारों को टिकट देने का औचित्य साबित करते हुए दावा किया कि उन पर स्वयं 70000 करोड़ रुपये के सिंचाई घोटाले को अंजाम देने के आरोप लगे थे। इसी के साथ उन्होंने जोर देकर कहा कि जब तक कोई दोषी साबित नहीं हो जाता, तब तक वह अपराधी नहीं होता।
भाजपा की आलोचना पर पवार का जवाब
गुरुवार को केंद्रीय मंत्री और भाजपा नेता मुरलीधर मोहोल ने आपराधिक संबंधों वाले व्यक्तियों को टिकट देने के लिए पवार की एनसीपी की आलोचना की थी। मोहोल को जवाब देते हुए पवार ने कहा कि सभी जानते हैं कि वह ऐसे तत्वों का कभी समर्थन नहीं करते। अजित पवार के नेतृत्व वाली राष्ट्रवादी कांग्रेस पार्टी (एनसीपी) ने अपने सहयोगी आरपीआई (सचिन खरात गुट) के माध्यम से सूर्यकांत उर्फ बंदू अंडेकर की बहू सोनाली अंडेकर और उनकी साली लक्ष्मी अंडेकर को टिकट दिया है। ये तीनों बंदू अंडेकर के पोते आयुष कोमकर की हत्या के आरोपी हैं और वर्तमान में जेल में हैं।
आरपीआई के साथ गठबंधन
एनसीपी ने 15 जनवरी को होने वाले पुणे और पिंपरी चिंचवड नगर निगम चुनावों में आरपीआई (सचिन खरात) के साथ गठबंधन किया है। पवार ने कहा, “मैं उन उम्मीदवारों की सूची तैयार करूंगा, जिन्हें एनसीपी और आरपीआई (सचिन खरात गुट) सहित अन्य गठबंधन सहयोगियों द्वारा टिकट दिए गए हैं।”
उन्होंने कहा, “सब जानते हैं कि मुझ पर 70,000 करोड़ रुपये के सिंचाई घोटाले के आरोप लगे थे। आज मैं उन लोगों के साथ सत्ता में हूं, जिन्होंने ये आरोप लगाए थे। क्या किसी व्यक्ति को दोष सिद्ध होने से पहले ही दोषी करार दिया जा सकता है?” पिंपरी चिंचवाड़ में एक प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस को संबोधित करते हुए पवार ने स्थानीय नगर निकाय में अनियमितताओं का आरोप लगाया।

उन्होंने कहा, “यह नगर निगम कभी एशिया का सबसे धनी नगर निगम हुआ करता था। एनसीपी के सत्ता में रहते हुए इसे भारत के सर्वश्रेष्ठ शहर का पुरस्कार भी मिला और इसने कई उपलब्धियां हासिल कीं। इतना समृद्ध होने के बावजूद यह कभी कर्ज में नहीं डूबा।” उन्होंने आगे कहा, “पिछले कुछ वर्षों में जमा राशि में लगातार गिरावट आई है। लगभग 8,000 करोड़ रुपये की जमा राशि समाप्त हो गई है। ठीक है, ऐसा हो सकता है, लेकिन कम से कम इस खर्च के अनुरूप काम तो दिखाइए।” उपमुख्यमंत्री ने दावा किया कि अगर एनसीपी सत्ता में आती है, तो इन सभी अनियमितताओं की जांच शुरू की जाएगी।
