विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन ने कोविड-19 संक्रमण का पता लगाने वाली एक ऐसी किट को स्वीकृत कर दिया है जिससे कुछ ही मिनटों में इसका पता लगाया जा सकेगा। इसकी कीमत पांच डॉलर है। भारतीय रुपये में यदि इसकी कीमत की बात करें तो ये 400 रुपये से भी कम है। इसकी जानकारी खुद डब्ल्यूएचओ के महानिदेशक टैड्रॉस एडहेनॉम घेबरेयेसस ने दी है। उन्होंने कहा है कि ऐसी करीब 12 करोड़ टेस्ट किट आने वाले छह माह के अंदर तैयार की जाएंगी। इन टेस्ट किट को साझीदार संगठनों के साथ मिलकर तैयार किया जाएगा। इन किट को 133 देशों में उपलब्ध करवाया जाएगा। डब्ल्यूएचओ का कहना है कि इस किट से निम्न व मध्य आय वाले देशों में टेस्ट का दायरा बढ़ाने में सफलता मिलेगी। रॉयटर्स के मुताबिक अब तक कोविड-19 के 33,264,096 मामले सामने आ चुके हैं और 1,000,010 मरीजों की मौत हो चुकी है। वहीं 23,142,099 मरीज ठीक भी हुए हैं।
डब्ल्यूएचओ का कहना है कि इस किट के जरिए कोविड-19 के विश्वसनीय नतीजे कम कीमत में कुछ घंटों की बजाए 15 से 30 मिनट में हासिल किये जा सकेंगे। कई देशों में टेस्ट किट की कीमतों के ऊंचा होने की वजह से टेस्ट कम हो रहे हैं वहीं जो हो भी रहे हैं उनका नतीजा आने में अब भी काफी समय लग रहा है। विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन ने उम्मीद जताई है कि इस नई किट से टेस्ट का दायरा बढ़ेगा। खासतौर पर उन दुर्गम स्थानों में जहां लैब सुविधाएं कम हैं या नहीं हैं या फिर RT-PCR टेस्ट के लिये प्रशिक्षित स्वास्थ्यकर्मियों की पहुंच नहीं है, वहां पर ये किट काफी कारगर साबित हो सकेगी।
डब्ल्यूएचओ के महानिदेशक घेबरेयेसस का कहना है कि जहां पर कोविड-19 का संक्रमण ज्यादा है वहां पर भी इस किट से मदद मिल सकेगी। इस किट के निर्माण के लिए दो विनिर्माताओं और गेट्स फाउंडेशन के बीच समझौता हुआ है। इनकी मदद से इन्हें दुनिया के विभिन्न देशों तक पहुंचाया जा सकेगा। उनका कहना है कि इस किट की कीमत RT-PCR की तुलना में बेहद कम है। इतना ही नहीं आने वाले समय में इनकी कीमत में और भी गिरावट आ सकती है। उन्होंने कहा कि जितनी तेजी से हम लोगों का टेस्ट करेंगे उतनी ही तेजी से लोगों को आइसोलेट किया जा सकेगा और इस महामारी पर काबू पाया जा सकेगा।
डब्ल्यूएचओ के मुताबिक इस प्रोजेक्ट को शुरू करने के लिए संगठन के पास धन है लेकिन इसके लिए और धनराशि की जरूरत होगी। घेबरेयेसस का कहना है कि ब्रिटेन के प्रधानमन्त्री बोरिस जॉनसनने यूएन एजेंसी और ACT-Accelerator पहल के तहत COVAX को वित्तीय संसाधन मुहैया कराए जाने की घोषणा की है। इस पहल का लक्ष्य कोविड-19 के खिलाफ शुरू हुई जंग में तेजी से वैक्सीन, निदान व उपचार विकसित करना है। साथ ही इसका मकसद इन्हें ठीक तरीके से दूसरे देशों को उपलब्ध करवाना भी है।
