यूनेस्को महानिदेशक ऑड्री अज़ूले ने आगाह किया कि दुनिया में किसी भी देश को महिलाओं व लड़कियों के लिए शिक्षा पर रोक नहीं लगानी चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि “शिक्षा एक सार्वभौमिक मानवाधिकार है, जिसका सम्मान किया जाना होगा। अन्तरराष्ट्रीय समुदाय का यह दायित्व है कि अफ़ग़ान लड़कियों व महिलाओं के अधिकार बिना देरी के बहाल किए जाएँ। महिलाओं के विरुद्ध लड़ाई को रोका जाना होगा।”
