नई दिल्ली (शाश्वत तिवारी)। भारतीय प्रवासियों के ऐतिहासिक दस्तावेजों को संग्रहित करने के लिए ओमान की राजधानी मस्कट में पहली डिजिटलीकरण परियोजना शुरू हुई। मस्कट स्थित भारतीय दूतावास ने भारतीय राष्ट्रीय अभिलेखागार (एनएआई) के साथ मिलकर ओमान में भारतीय प्रवासियों की समृद्ध विरासत को संरक्षित करने के लिए यह अभूतपूर्व परियोजना शुरू की है। ‘ओमान संग्रह – ओमान में भारतीय समुदाय की अभिलेखीय विरासत’ शीर्षक से यह डिजिटलीकरण और ओरल हिस्ट्री पहल कार्यक्रम 19-27 मई, 2024 तक चला। इसमें मुख्य रूप से गुजरात से पहुंचे 32 प्रमुख भारतीय परिवारों ने भाग लिया और ओमान में अपनी 250 साल की मौजूदगी को प्रदर्शित किया।
यह परियोजना प्रवासी दस्तावेजों को डिजिटल करने के लिए एनएआई का पहला विदेशी उपक्रम है, जो विदेशों में समुदाय की विरासत को संरक्षित करने की दिशा में एक ऐतिहासिक कदम है। ओमान में लगभग 7 लाख भारतीय रहते हैं, जिनमें से काफी लोग भारत के साथ मजबूत संबंध बनाए रखते हुए ओमानी समाज में गहराई से घुलमिल गए हैं। यह पहल भारत और ओमान के बीच लंबे समय से चले आ रहे ऐतिहासिक और सांस्कृतिक संबंधों को रेखांकित करती है। पुराने भारतीय व्यापारी परिवारों के निजी संग्रह से अंग्रेजी, अरबी, गुजराती और हिंदी में 7,000 से अधिक दस्तावेजों को डिजिटल किया गया है। 1838 से पहले के इन दस्तावेजों में व्यक्तिगत डायरियां, खाता बही, टेलीग्राम, व्यापार चालान, पासपोर्ट, पत्र और तस्वीरें शामिल हैं। वे ओमान में भारतीय समुदाय के जीवन और योगदान के बारे में एक आकर्षक अंतर्दृष्टि प्रदान करते हैं और साथ ही उनकी सांस्कृतिक प्रथाओं, सामाजिक गतिविधियों और व्यापार पर भी प्रकाश डालते हैं।
डिजिटाइज किए गए दस्तावेज़ों को एनएआई के डिजिटल पोर्टल ‘अभिलेख पटल’ पर संग्रहीत किया जाएगा, जिससे वे शोधकर्ताओं और आम लोगों के लिए सुलभ हो जाएंगे। जिन परिवारों के संग्रह को डिजिटल किया गया है, उनमें रतनसी पुरुषोत्तम, खिमजी रामदास और हरिदास नेन्सी परिवार शामिल हैं। इस परियोजना में पुराने समुदाय के सदस्यों की ओरल हिस्ट्री को भी रिकॉर्ड किया गया है, जिसमें व्यक्तिगत किस्से, प्रवास के अनुभव और ओमान में भारतीय समुदाय के विकसित होने के क्रम को शामिल किया गया है।
