दक्षिण कोरिया के राष्ट्रपति यूं सूक येओल को बुधवार सुबह कानून प्रवर्तन अधिकारियों ने गिरफ्तार कर लिया. इससे पहले उनके खिलाफ महाभियोग लाया गया. बता दें कि साउथ कोरिया के इतिहास में राष्ट्रपति येओल की गिरफ्तारी एक अभूतपूर्व घटना है. जिसका देश की राजनीति पर गहरा प्रभाव देखने को मिल सकता है. येओल को गिरफ्तार करने से पहले सैकड़ों भ्रष्टाचार विरोधी जांचकर्ताओं और पुलिस ने सप्ताह भर से चल रहे गतिरोध को खत्म करने के लिए राष्ट्रपति भवन परिसर पर छापेमार कार्रवाई की.

राष्ट्रपति येओल की जमकर हुई आलोचना
बता दें कि महाभियोग का सामना कर रहे दक्षिण कोरिया के राष्ट्रपति यूं सूक येओल के खिलाफ आरोप है कि उन्होंने अपने अधिकारों का गलत इस्तेमाल किया और देश में मार्शल लॉ लागू करने की कोशिश की. जिसके चलते उन्हें घरेलू ही नहीं बल्कि अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर भी तीखी आलोचना का सामना करना पड़ा. बता दें कि राष्ट्रपति येओल पर महाभियोग के बाद से ही देश में अस्थिरता का माहौल पैदा हो गया. उसके बाद बुधवार को आखिरकार उन्हें गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया. जिससे हालात और खराब हो गए.
