599 करोड़ की लागत से बनेगा चंद्रावल जल शोधन संयंत्र, सीएम बोलीं- इसी साल हर हाल में शुरू हो जाएगा

मुख्यमंत्री ने सोमवार को जल बोर्ड की समीक्षा बैठक करते हुए कहा कि 105 एमजीडी क्षमता वाला यह अत्याधुनिक संयंत्र इस साल हर हाल में चालू हो जाएगा। इसके शुरू होते ही दिल्ली की जल आपूर्ति व्यवस्था को मजबूती मिलेगी। ये परियोजना 2012 में शुरू हुई थी, लेकिन पिछली सरकार की लापरवाही, बार-बार टेंडर रद्द होने और तकनीकी अड़चनों के चलते वर्षों तक अटकी रही। इसके कारण न सिर्फ लोगों को पानी की परेशानी झेलनी पड़ी, बल्कि परियोजना की लागत भी करीब 400 करोड़ रुपये बढ़ गई। वर्तमान सरकार ने जाइका और भारत सरकार के साथ समन्वय कर इन अड़चनों को दूर किया और अतिरिक्त बजट देकर काम को आगे बढ़ाया।

दिल्ली की 11 फीसदी आबादी की बुझेगी प्यास
सीएम ने बताया कि चंद्रावल संयंत्र से करीब 92 वर्ग किलोमीटर क्षेत्र में जल आपूर्ति होगी, जो दिल्ली के कुल क्षेत्रफल का करीब 6.20 फीसदी है। इससे मॉडल टाउन, सदर बाजार, चांदनी चौक, मटिया महल, बल्लीमारान, करोल बाग, पटेल नगर, राजेंद्र नगर और आरके पुरम जैसे घनी आबादी वाले इलाकों को लाभ मिलेगा। यह परियोजना दिल्ली की करीब 11 फीसदी आबादी की पानी की जरूरतें पूरी करेगी। इससे जल आपूर्ति की गुणवत्ता सुधरेगी और खासकर गर्मियों के दौरान लोगों तक ज्यादा साफ पानी पहुंचेगा।

बदली जाएंगी पुरानी पाइप लाइनें
