बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट ने मुंबई तट के पास जब्त किए गए तीन पोतों पर फंसे 50 नाविकों को छोड़ने का मंगलवार को निर्देश दिया। अदालत ने पोत मालिकों को फटकार लगाते हुए कहा कि पोतों के मालिक चालक दल के सदस्यों को महीनों से नाम मात्र के लिए भोजन और पानी उपलब्ध कराके उनके साथ पालतू जानवरों से भी बुरा व्यवहार कर रहे हैं।
हाई कोर्ट ने कहा, पोत मालिक नाविकों के स्वास्थ्य के बजाय अपनी व्यावसायिक गतिविधियों को प्राथमिकता दे रहे हैं। जीवन केवल एक बार मिलता है। हम पुनर्जन्म में विश्वास नहीं करते हैं। पोतों पर फंसे नाविकों ने हाई कोर्ट में दायर याचिका में दावा किया कि उनके पास नाम मात्र के लिए भोजन और पानी उपलब्ध है।
मालिकों ने नाविकों को उनके हाल पर छोड़ा
तीनों पोतों को तेल और कोयले के अवैध परिवहन के आरोप में मुंबई से लगभग 11 समुद्री मील दूर बीच समुद्र में जब्त कर लिया गया था, जिसके बाद मालिकों ने नाविकों को उनके हाल पर छोड़ दिया है।

नाविकों ने कोर्ट में क्या कहा?
सभी नाविकों को जस्टिस रविंद्र घुगे और जस्टिस हितेन वेनेगांवकर की पीठ के समक्ष पेश किया गया। नाविकों ने पीठ को बताया कि वे पोतों पर वापस नहीं जाना चाहते। नाविकों ने पीठ से कहा कि उन्होंने पोतों पर नाम मात्र भोजन और रोजाना केवल 300 मिलीलीटर पानी दिया जा रहा है।
अदालत ने लगाई फटकार
अदालत ने पोत मालिकों को फटकार लगाते हुए कहा, आप (जहाज मालिक) चालक दल के सदस्यों को रोजाना केवल 300 मिलीलीटर पानी कैसे दे सकते हैं? हमारे घरों में पालतू जानवरों को भी रोजाना इससे अधिक पानी मिलता है। हम इस तरह का व्यवहार बर्दाश्त नहीं करेंगे।
