लखनऊ, 23 जूनः एक देश में एक प्रधान, एक विधान, एक निशान के मुद्दे और भारत की अखंडता को लेकर डॉ. श्यामा प्रसाद मुखर्जी ने 23 जून 1953 को अपना बलिदान दिया था। देश 1947 में आजाद हुआ और 1950 में संविधान लागू किया गया। इसके बाद तत्कालीन कांग्रेस नेतृत्व की सरकार ने देश के संविधान में धारा-370 जोड़कर राष्ट्रीय अखंडता को गंभीर चोट पहुंचाने का कुत्सित प्रयास किया था। डॉ. मुखर्जी उस समय उद्योग व खाद्य मंत्री के रूप में देश की सेवा कर रहे थे, लेकिन सरकार की मंशा को ध्यान में रखकर उन्होंने पद छोड़ दिया और देश की प्रतिष्ठा व अखंडता के लिए कश्मीर से धारा-370 हटाने के लिए व्यापक आंदोलन प्रारंभ किया।
उक्त बातें मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने कहीं। उन्होंने भारतीय जनसंघ के संस्थापक अध्यक्ष डॉ. श्यामा प्रसाद मुखर्जी के बलिदान दिवस पर सिविल हॉस्पिटल परिसर हजरतगंज स्थित प्रतिमा पर पुष्पांजलि अर्पित की। सीएम ने डॉ. मुखर्जी को भारत माता का महान सपूत, प्रख्यात स्वतंत्रता संग्राम सेनानी, अखंड भारत का स्वप्नदृष्टा बताया।
