नए साल का जश्न: कनॉट प्लेस समेत नई दिल्ली में भीषण जाम

नए साल के जश्न के चलते कनॉट समेत नई दिल्ली और दिल्ली के अन्य हिस्सों में देर रात तक जबरदस्त जाम लग गया था। कनॉट प्लेस में चारों तरफ से प्रवेश बंद करने से यहां भीषण जाम के हालात बन गए। कनाॅट प्लेस के बाहरी मार्गों पर वाहनों की लंबी लाइनें लग गई थीं।

लोग आधा घंटे से पौने घंटे तक जाम में फंसे रहे। हालांकि सभी जगहों पर ट्रैफिक कर्मी तैनात नजर आए और ट्रैफिक को खुलवाने और कनॉट प्लेस में वाहनों के प्रवेश को रोकने के लिए सतर्क दिखे। दिल्ली ट्रैफिक पुलिस के बड़े अधिकारी भी सड़कों पर दिखे।

दिल्ली ट्रैफिक पुलिस ने नए साल के जश्न को लेकर एडवाइजरी जारी की और बुधवार शाम 7 बजे कनाॅट प्लेस में प्रवेश बंद कर दिया था। कनॉट प्लेस में संसद मार्ग पर पटेल चौक के पास, केजी मार्ग पर फिरोजशाह चौराहे के पास, बाराखंभा रोड पर मंडी हाउस, रणजीत फ्लाईओवर पर कमला मार्केट के पास, पंचकुईया रोड पर पहाड़गंज के पास और बाबार खड़क सिंह मार्ग पर हनुमान मंदिर से पहले बेरीकेड्स लगाकर वाहनों को प्रवेश रोक दिया गया था।

वाहन चालक कनॉट प्लेस जाने के लिए जब यहां पहुंच रहे थे तो यहां तैनात ट्रैफिक कर्मी व यातायात पुलिस के जवान उन्हें समझाकर वापस भेजते नजर आए। इन कारण इन मार्गों पर शाम से ही जाम लगना शुरू हो गया था। इस कारण मंडी हाउस राउंड गोलचक्कर, बंगाली मार्केट गोलचक्कर, रंजीत सिंह फ्लाईओवर का उत्तरी छोर,मिंटो रोड-दीन दयाल उपाध्याय मार्ग क्रॉसिंग,चेम्सफोर्ड रोड के पास मुंजे चौक (नई दिल्ली रेलवे स्टेशन), आर.के. आश्रम मार्ग-चित्रगुप्त मार्ग क्रॉसिंग, गोल मार्केटगोलचक्कर, जी.पी.ओ. गोलचक्कर, पटेल चौक,कस्तूरबा गांधी रोड-फिरोजशाह रोड क्रॉसिंग, जय सिंह रोड-बंगला साहिब लेन, विंडसर प्लेस गोलचक्कर और जनपथ आदि सड़कों पर वाहनों की लंबी लाइनें लग गई थीं।

इन मार्ग पर देर रात तक जाम लगा रहा। यहीं हाल साकेत में साकेत मॉल, नेहरू प्लेस, वसंतकुज, वसंत विहार, रोहिणी, पंजाबी बाग व पहाड़गंज इलाके में जाम लगा रहा। दिल्ली ट्रैफिक पुलिस के एक अधिकारी ने बताया कि दिल्ली पुलिस ने जो एडवाइजरी जारी की थी उस पर लोगों ने ज्यादा ध्यान नहीं दिया। लोग वाहनों को लेकर कनाॅट प्लेस जाने की जिद कर रहे थे। ऐसे में वाहन चालकों को समझाने में काफी समय लग रहा था। इस कारण ट्रैफिक काफी भारी हो रहा था। हालांकि इंडिया गेट पर देर शाम ट्रैफिक सुचारू रूप से चलता हुआ दिखाई दिया। ट्रैफिक पुलिसकर्मी यहां पर किसी वाहन को रूकने नहीं दे रहे थे।

पुलिस अपील करती रही
